Farbara
An artistic duo founded in 2021 by visual artist Barbara Christol and composer-musician Fabien Tolosa.
 
The duo is currently working on the creation of an immersive visual and sound piece as part of the project MEM.MORI. A true laboratory of sensory exploration, MEM.MORI offers a reflection on memory across generations and broader notions of lineage.
 
The project is locally supported by the associations Ambassade du Pourquoi Pas and France Alzheimer Gard.

Selection

2021 – Nîmes Libraries – Project “Tales of Not-So-Well-Behaved Children… from the Denim Libraries” – Creation of a Quiet Book revisiting the heritage of Nîmes. Designed as a fabric book, the final piece—firmly rooted in imagination—references Jacques Prévert’s Tales for Naughty Children. Produced during workshops led by the artist at Carré d’Art – Museum of Contemporary Art and the Marc Bernard Media Library, in collaboration with the Nîmes Library Network.
 
2021 – Les Contes de l’Innovation© – Series of original drawings commissioned by Myriagone Conseil (Hérault) to illustrate the podcast Les Contes de l’Innovation©. Available on Deezer and Spotify.

2011–2018 – Barbara Cadabra – The Magical Mystery Blog – Creation and curation of the blog Barbara Cadabra – The Magical Mystery Blog, chronicling the illustrated adventures of “Barbara Cadabra,” a drawn avatar of Barbara Christol. Active from 2011 to 2018, the blog led to numerous collaborations and press features (ELLE Magazine 2013, Traveling Z project with over 40 European illustrators between 2012 and 2015, Vernissage Illustré in collaboration with artist Amylee, and recurring partnerships with the New York fashion blog StyleOnTheCouch).
